I am Kalaimathi- 20 years. I live in Vinayagar Kovil street, Ayipalayam, Gobichettipalayam. Erode District. In our village there are 150 families living. The people in this village goes to company, mill and for daily wages.
My parents were daily wagers. I have sister (Sangeetha) and she got married. After completion of my 12th I went to garments company for family situations. I worked in the compnay under sumangali scheme. Later I got married to Srinivasan, he is physically able and worked for daily wages in a needle making company. I have a son, one and a half year. After my delivery, our financial problems were becoming poorer. So to help my family, I started going to company. I worked there as a helper. The company used to force me to work for overtime but I refused to work. Later the supervisor told me to stop coming to the company.
After few days, I got the notice of READ running a tailoring centre. I joined the tailoring course. I learnt how to stitch blouses and chudidhars for 3 months. After completion of 3 months course I got certificate from READ.
Now I have my own tailoring machine, with that I am earning sufficient to run my family. I am happy and I thank READ for giving opportunity to learn tailoring course.
Apart from all difficulties READ thought me to live the life. I thank READ for supporting me.
