Ms.R.Abirami is a 19 year old girl from Elanchi. Elanchi has 116 families and 658 members in total. There is only one primary school in that village. Main occupation of that village is Agriculture especially paddy. Major community is MBC in that village.
Her father Mr.R.Rejendran died because of heart attack. Her mother Ms.Maheswari is doing gardening work and sometimes took cooking contract. She has one elder brother, Mr.R.Sasi kumar who is studying B.Sc.Computer science in Kamedhenu College.

Ms.Abirami finished her 12th standard in nearby village. She scored 723 out of 1200 in her higher secondary. But because of her family’s poor economic condition, she was unable to continue her studies. So she went to S.C.M garments in Avinasi. There she worked for 8 months.

The project coordinator of READ motivated her to continue her higher studies. Now she is doing her first year in B.A.Tamil at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She is doing her studies in correspondence. READ paid Rs.7000 as her college fees.
